A first year student in Sekiei Academy who hails from Koganei City. She is however, not born there but on a rural ranch, thus her accent is a bit heavy on the Kansai-ben.  She may not look like it, but Akane is an incredibly talented pokemon trainer and earn her rank as a gym leader. She is quite a hard worker as well, though she struggles on studies such as school work and what not. She is very talented at farming and herding cattle. Akane also knows how to bake very well, though her other food product tend to be too sweet. She's also good friends with Ginmaru, who is a troubled young man who holds a heavy grudge on Satoshi for some reason. Akane seems to be simple minded at times, but she can be quite well informed in most scenario. She also seems to tend to wounds very efficiently, as she carries around a first aid kit with her all the time. (Though she mainly uses it on herself, she's a bit clumsy)
